Víctor Yepes Piqueras
Víctor Yepes es Doctor Ingeniero de Caminos, Canales y Puertos y Catedrático de Universidad en el Departamento de Ingeniería de la Construcción y Proyectos de Ingeniería Civil de la Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV). Es Consejero del Sector Docencia e Investigación del Colegio de Ingenieros de Caminos, Canales y Puertos y Secretario del Comité 15 de acreditación de profesores titulares y catedráticos de universidad del área de ingeniería civil de ANECA. Número 1 de su promoción, ha desarrollado su carrera profesional en empresas constructoras, en el sector público y en el ámbito universitario.
Ha sido director académico del Máster Universitario en Ingeniería del Hormigón, acreditado con el sello EUR-ACE. Es investigador del Instituto de Ciencia y Tecnología del Hormigón (ICITECH) y profesor visitante en la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. En el ámbito docente, imparte asignaturas de grado y posgrado relacionadas con procedimientos de construcción y gestión de obras, calidad e innovación, modelos predictivos y optimización en la ingeniería.
Ha recibido el Premio a la Excelencia Docente del Consejo Social de la UPV, así como el Premio a la Trayectoria Excelente en Investigación y el Premio al Impacto Excelente en Investigación, ambos otorgados por la Universitat Politècnica de València. Ha publicado más de 200 artículos científicos indexados en el JCR, así como más de 350 publicaciones, tanto artículos como comunicaciones a congresos. Ha dirigido 21 tesis doctorales, de las cuales otras 8 se encuentran en curso. Su índice h en la Web of Science es 47.
En la actualidad, sus líneas de investigación se centran en la optimización multiobjetivo, la sostenibilidad y el análisis del ciclo de vida de puentes y de estructuras de hormigón. Además, es evaluador experto de proyectos de investigación para el Ministerio de Ciencia y Tecnología de España e investigador principal en numerosos proyectos competitivos. Es miembro del consejo editorial de 12 revistas internacionales, entre ellas Structure & Infrastructure Engineering, Structural Engineering and Mechanics, Mathematics, Sustainability, Revista de la Construcción, Advances in Civil Engineering y Advances in Concrete Construction.
Víctor Yepes is a Full Professor at the Department of Construction Engineering and Civil Engineering Projects of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), Spain. He holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering and ranked first in his class. He is Counsellor for Education and Research at the Spanish Association of Civil Engineers and Secretary of the ANECA Committee 15 for accreditation of associate and full professors in civil engineering. His professional career has developed in construction companies, the public sector, and academia.
He has served as academic director of the Master’s Degree in Concrete Engineering, which is accredited with the EUR-ACE label. He is a member of the Institute of Concrete Science and Technology (ICITECH) and a Visiting Professor at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on construction methods, project management, quality and innovation, predictive models, and optimization in engineering.
He has received the Academic Excellence Award from the UPV Social Council, the Excellent Research Career Award, and the Excellent Research Impact Award, all of which were granted by the UPV. Dr. Yepes has authored over 350 journal and conference papers, including over 200 published in JCR-indexed journals. He has supervised 21 PhD theses, with eight more currently in progress. His h-index in Web of Science is 47.
His research interests include multi-objective optimization, sustainability, and life-cycle assessment of concrete bridges and structures. He has served as an expert evaluator for research project proposals to the Spanish Ministry of Science and Technology and is the Principal Investigator in several funded projects. He also serves on the editorial board of 12 international journals, including Structure & Infrastructure Engineering, Structural Engineering and Mechanics, Mathematics, Sustainability, Revista de la Construcción, Advances in Civil Engineering, and Advances in Concrete Construction.
